CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF APPRECIATION TO  20 GRENADIERS FOR OPERATION SINDOOR- 15 JAN 2026

20th Battalion the GRENADIERS Regiment was inducted into the highly active Gurez Sector on the LC on 05 Aug 2023. During Operation SINDOOR, the unit demonstrated exceptional operational excellence, achieving unparalleled preparedness, infrastructure enhancement and counter infiltration effectiveness. Within mere four days, the battalion achieved complete operational readiness with critical weapons redeployed, ammunition placed at forward locations, extensive hardening of bunkers, communication grids and data links. The integrated surveillance and communication grid coupled with enhanced situational awareness and precision targeting using in-house innovations assisted the mortar platoon of the battalion to successfully destroy & cause heavy casualty to the Pakistani Post. The battalion also ensured safety of all the civilians by relocating them into safe underground community bunkers ensuring zero civilian casualties. For the sustained superior performance, innovations and holistic operational effectiveness, the unit was awarded the ‘Chief of Army Staff Appreciation’ for “Operation SINDOOR”.
