INAUGURATION OF VEER SMARAK OF

GRENADIER JASWANT SINGH (POSTH) - 8 GRENADIERS

A grand statue, Shaheed Smarak and Shaheed Dham of Gdr Jaswant Singh (Posth) the brave son of the Battalion who attained veergati on 01 Jul 2002 during Op Parakram along with Sub Liyakat, was inaugurated yesterday at his native Vill Sekhla in Shergarh, Jodhpur, just next to the school named after him.

The event was org through the dedicated efforts and coord of serving reps of the Battalion, Sub Abhay (Retd), unit veterans, local adm and community members. On the occasion, Veer Nari Smt Neeru Kanwar was also felicitated in recognition of the supreme sacrifice and the support rendered by her family.

The function was a grand success and witnessed the presence of serving & retired members of the Battalion, numerous ESM and local dignitaries and villagers. The unveiling of the statue and inauguration of the memorial were conducted with full military honours and immense public participation.
