TRIBUTE TO LT COL SC THAKAN (RETD) OF 2 GRENADIERS

I deeply regret to inform you about the sad demise of  IC–19017H Lt Col SC Thakan (Retd)   on 15 Nov 2025 at his native place Jaipur(Raj). He was born on 28 Jul 1945 and was commissioned into 2 GRENADIERS on 16 Dec 1967 and commanded the same Battalion as its 68^th Commanding Officer  from 1988 to 1990. In his stupendous career of over 30 years, he tenanted important staff & instr appts.  He was posted as Instr class B at HAWS from 1972 to 1975. He was also GSO-1 (Trg), GRC from 1986 to 1988 before taking over Command. Post relinquishing command, the Offr was posted as GSO (SD and WE) at HQ, 3 Inf Div from 1990-91 and CO, 61(I) Pro Unit from 1991 to 1994. After this he tenanted the appt of GSO (SD & WE) at HQ 17 Mtn Div from  1994 to 1997. He retired on 31 Jul 1997 from esteemed service to nation.

We also pray to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
