VISIT OF LT GEN SANJAY MITRA, AVSM, COLONEL THE GRENADIERS

TO THE GRENADIERS REGIMENTAL CENTRE, JABALPUR (16 – 18 JULY 2025)

Lt Gen Sanjay Mitra, AVSM, Colonel The GRENADIERS, visited The GRENADIERS Regimental Centre, Jabalpur from 16 to 18 July 2025. He was accorded a warm and ceremonious reception by the Centre Comdt and All Rks, exemplifying the strong regtl spirit and traditions of The GRENADIERS.
The vis commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at War Memorial, where the Gen Offr paid homage to the gallant soldiers of our Regt who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the Nation.

A Special Sainik Sammelan was conducted during the visit, wherein Gen Mitra exhorted all ranks to internalize and live by every word of the GRINDER’s Shapath, upholding its spirit unwaveringly across all spheres of professional conduct and pers life. In his inspiring address, the Colonel of the Regt acknowledged the professionalism, dedication, and commitment of all pers posted at the Centre and select indls were also felicitated for their exemplary service and notable achievements.

The Gen Offr also held a candid and motivating interaction with the troops, fostering an atmosphere of open comn and lauding their firm dedication to duty. This was followed by a focused bfg session where key issues pertaining to trg, adm, welfare and regimental growth were deliberated upon.

During his vis to the Regimental Records Office, the Gen Offr emphasized on the significance of proper docu, transparency in functioning, meticulous posting and career plg, and timely disbursement of entitlements; especially concerning the welfare of our ESMs, BCs, PCs, widows and Veer Naris.

Concomitantly, Mrs. Rita Mitra visited Rakesh Museum, where she felicitated families and wards of pers posted at the Centre for their notable accomplishments. She also interacted with our regtl ladies, discussing welfare initiatives and commending their invaluable contributions towards maintaining the regtl ethos. The First Lady further visited the Grenadiers Foundation School, where she engaged with teachers and students, encouraging and supporting their educational pursuits.

The vis concluded with a social evening at the Offrs’ Mess, providing a warm and congenial platform for interaction among offrs and their families. The event was marked by camaraderie and regtl pride. It was graced by veterans residing in Jabalpur, in stn serving officers affiliated with our Regt and newly commissioned YOs—symbolizing the enduring bonds across generations within the GRINDER fraternity.
