WREATH LAYING CEREMONY AT THE NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL 

OF NK (LATE) PRAKASH CHAND, KC OF 15 GRENADIERS 

A wreath-laying ceremony was solemnly organised at the National War Memorial, New Delhi on 09 Jun 2026 to honour and remember No. 2671202PNk(Late)Prakash Chand, KC of 15 GRENADIERS, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

The ceremony was conducted with full military decorum, paying homage to his exemplary courage, unwavering dedication and selfless service to the nation. The wreath was laid by SmtManjeetKumari, wife of Nk (Late) Prakash Chand, KC, as a mark of deep respect and gratitude towards the brave soldier.

Nk (Late) Prakash Chand, KC laid down his life while fighting terrorists during “Op RakshakCI (Ops) (J&K)” on 19 May 1990, displaying indomitable spirit and devotion to duty in the highest traditions of the Indian Army.

An interaction was also organised with Mrs Rita Mitra, during which the family was assured of the Regiment’s continued support, care and unwavering commitment towards the welfare of the Veer Naris and their families.
