WREATHLAYING CEREMONY AT NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL OF

NO 2683379P  L/NK  RANJIT SINGH OF 2 GRENADIERS

A special wreath-laying ceremony was organised at the National War Memorial on 09 Jan 2026 to honour L/Nk Ranjit Singh of 2 GRENADIERS, who attained martyrdom on 22 Jul1995 during an operation in Srinagar. For his exemplary courage and supreme sacrifice beyond the call of duty, he was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra.

His wife, Smt Babita, attended the solemn ceremony. An interaction was also organised with Mrs Rita Mitra, during which the family was assured of continued support from the Regiment
